A Washington police officer is expected to recover after being shot by a suspect Monday.
The shooting involving a Sunnyside police officer happened at about 8 p.m., KNDO-TV reports. No details have been released to what transpired before the shooting, but after the incident, the suspect—a 44-year-old man—fled on foot.
A SWAT team was called in, and the suspect was confronted. He was uncooperative, and officers used a bean bag round to subdue him.
Two handguns were found on the man, and he was taken to the hospital.
The condition of the wounded officer has not been released.
